Ofsted has intervened following concerns raised about Little Adventures Nursery in Bridgwater. After complaints surfaced in March and April 2025, inspectors visited the nursery on April 17 and found that the setting was not fully meeting required standards, particularly around staff communication and information sharing.
The investigation addressed issues related to staff-to-child ratios, health protocols, record-keeping, and the safety and suitability of the nursery’s premises and equipment. While only one breach was confirmed during the regulatory visit, Ofsted emphasized the need for prompt improvement.
Specifically, the nursery was directed to enhance the flow of information between key staff members to ensure all employees thoroughly understand each child’s needs and can support their learning effectively. Despite these problems, Little Adventures Nursery remains registered with Ofsted and will be subject to ongoing monitoring.

The report reiterates Ofsted’s commitment: “All early years providers must comply with the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. When requirements are not met, we take action to ensure providers address these issues.”
In the detailed findings, Ofsted noted: “Concerns received in March and April 2025 related to staff:child ratios, health, record keeping, and premises safety. Our visit on April 17 confirmed one unmet requirement.”
Further updates on May 6 showed progress: “The provider improved staffing arrangements and delivered additional training to ensure key staff are familiar with each child and their learning needs. Safeguarding and welfare actions have been met satisfactorily.”
Ofsted also explained its responsibility to publish details of complaints and interventions against childcare providers, with such information remaining publicly accessible on their website for five years.
Parents are encouraged to stay informed as the nursery is expected to communicate ongoing efforts to address the concerns. Ofsted will continue to oversee the nursery’s compliance to verify that improvements are sustained.
The nursery was contacted for comment but had not responded at the time of reporting.
