In the early days of 2025, Taunton and Bristol Crown Courts have seen a number of individuals sentenced to prison for the crimes they have committed, marking the start of the year with justice served. The list of convicted criminals includes individuals who have caused death, engaged in dangerous driving, committed serious assaults, orchestrated drug supply, and even served environmental vandalism.
Below is an overview of some of the heinous crimes that led to these individuals being put behind bars:
Reece McKinvern:
A 31-year-old man from Street, Somerset, has been sentenced to 13 months in prison for causing the death of an 83-year-old woman due to careless driving. The incident took place in March 2023.

Ross Neiland:
A driver from Littlehampton, aged 38, was given a nine years and nine months sentence for causing death by dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and failing to provide a specimen. This comes after a tragic motorway crash that led to the death of another driver.
Tom Kember:
A 27-year-old Somerset man was handed a 21-year jail term after committing grievous bodily harm to an eight-week-old baby, resulting in profound disabilities for the child.
Joseph Dix and Macauley Ruddock:
Two men from Somerset, aged 26 and 27, were sentenced to life imprisonment for beating a man to death outside a hotel, following a drunken altercation in Swansea.
Leigh Brean:
A 43-year-old man from Wrington was given a three-year and two-month jail sentence for causing serious injury by dangerous driving, following a crash in which he drank 10 pints of beer before getting behind the wheel.
Stephen Adetoyi:
A 26-year-old from Midsomer Norton was sentenced to four years in prison for his involvement in a county lines operation, specifically in the supply of cocaine and cannabis in Avon and Somerset.
Dominic Scribbins:
A man from Plymouth has been jailed for 20 years for sexually abusing young girls across Bristol and Dorset over a 16-year period.
Ronald Burton:
A 36-year-old drug dealer from Clevedon was sentenced to 45 months in prison for his role in supplying drugs in the area.
Patrick Hart:
A doctor from Bristol, aged 38, was jailed for 12 months for vandalizing petrol pumps at a motorway service station as part of an environmental protest.
Other convicted individuals include Joshua Whittaker, Ashley Billing, and Tyson Miller, each receiving jail time for assault, causing death by driving while disqualified and intoxicated, and stalking, respectively.
