An NHS worker, Paul Tew, has been reprimanded for posting offensive content on Facebook between 2015 and December 2024. The posts, made by an account claiming Tew works for Yeovil District Hospital, included derogatory remarks about Muslims and distasteful jokes about singer Liam Payne’s death.
The spokesperson for Somerset NHS Foundation Trust stated, “We are aware of a number of social media posts made by Mr. Tew and we are dealing with it in line with our trust policies.” The Trust emphasized their stance against discriminatory language, adding, “We do not tolerate views and language that is discriminatory or intolerant of others.”
The posts included derogatory comments about Muslims and intolerant language towards followers of the Islamic faith. Additionally, a post from Christmas Eve 2024 appeared to mock the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne.
