This Thursday, Shepton Mallet welcomes The Artistry, a captivating new shop at 37 Town Street dedicated to showcasing the talents of over 30 local artists and makers. The launch event invites the public to discover unique handmade homewares, artwork, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, and more, while meeting the creative minds behind these one-of-a-kind pieces.
The Artistry is a key part of the Town Council’s pop-up shop initiative designed to revitalize the High Street by supporting the local economy and attracting visitors. Following funding approval last year, the Council has financed the rent and initial setup costs for this exciting retail venture.
Managed by Interim Spaces—renowned for their role in developing artist studios and retail incubators in Shepton Mallet—the previously vacant unit has been transformed into a vibrant hub for creativity and commerce. Operated collectively by local makers, The Artistry offers not only a shopping experience but also a growing schedule of accessible workshops that foster community engagement and creativity.
