A new police enquiry office has officially opened its doors in Frome, marking a significant step towards improving public access to local law enforcement services. Avon and Somerset Constabulary announced that the newly established front office within Frome’s police station, located at Wessex Fields retail park, is now available to serve residents.
Designed to provide a welcoming and accessible point of contact, the office aims to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community. Superintendent Lisa Simpson emphasized the importance of public engagement in effective policing, stating, “The new enquiry office will help ensure our local team are reachable and connected to communities.”
She explained that the move from the previous location at Frome Library will not affect officer numbers or patrol schedules, ensuring continued consistent service in the area. The proximity of the enquiry officers to the neighbourhood policing team is expected to enhance collaboration and improve the overall quality of service provided.

The new facility operates Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM. It is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair access and an induction loop for visitors using hearing aids. Additionally, visitor parking is available, and an external phone ensures contact can be made even when the office is closed.
Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody expressed her support for the development, saying, “Placing the enquiry office alongside the police team makes sense and will provide a better service for the people of Frome.”
With the new enquiry office in place, members of the public will have a convenient and effective way to connect with their local police force, reinforcing community safety and trust.
