Planning proposals for new student accommodation in Bath, flats conversion above a vets in Weston-super-Mare, a new house in a Somerset village, and the rebuilding of a chimney on a Grade I listed building in Bath are currently under consideration in Bath and North East Somerset and North Somerset.
Bath and North East Somerset and North Somerset Councils have been receiving a multitude of planning applications each week, including some notable proposals. Most of the plans will be decided by council planning officers, while the significant or contentious ones will go before the planning committees comprised of elected councillors. It is crucial that the decisions are made in alignment with the council’s planning policies, with considerations beyond local politics.
One interesting proposal involves the transformation of an empty building in Bath into a new block of student accommodation. Baker’s House in Twerton is being considered for conversion into student accommodation. Another application seeks to convert office units above Vets4Pets on Milton Road in Weston-super-Mare into four flats. Additionally, a homeowner in Paulton is seeking permission to build a new house in their garden. Lastly, plans have been submitted to reinstate the chimney stack on a Grade I listed building in Bath.
