New KFC Drive-Thru Restaurant Opens in Wellington with Free Meals

KFC’s brand-new drive-thru restaurant at West Park in Wellington is set to open its doors this morning, offering customers the chance to indulge in KFC’s delectable fried chicken through the drive-thru or dine-in option. Additionally, the restaurant provides both standard and electric car charging bays, catering to a wide range of customers. KFC will also offer delivery from the restaurant just in time for Christmas.

The inauguration of the restaurant has given rise to 35 new job opportunities in the local community, with KFC still accepting applications from those interested in joining the team.

To celebrate the grand opening, KFC has invited local councillors to participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first few customers will also receive merchandise and free meals as part of the festivities.

James Whitehorn, Chief Development Officer at KFC UK & Ireland, expressed his excitement about the new restaurant, stating, “We’re thrilled to be opening our first restaurant in the vibrant town of Wellington, bringing our chicken to local people and creating new jobs in the community. We’re grateful to everyone who has helped bring our new restaurant to life and we can’t wait to welcome our first customers very soon.”

Developed by Summerfield Commercial, Wellington’s first KFC joins over 36 restaurants serving the UK’s original fried chicken across Somerset and the Southwest.

The opening of the new restaurant aligns with KFC’s ongoing expansion efforts in the UK and Ireland. The company aims to establish 500 new restaurants across the country over the next decade, generating over 20,000 jobs, bolstering local economies, and making KFC’s chicken more accessible to a larger audience.
