Emma Cooper, an educator with over 25 years of teaching and leadership experience, has taken on the role of Headteacher at Roundhill Primary School in Bath as the new academic year begins. Previously Deputy Head at The Mendip School, a special school under The Partnership Trust, Emma brings a wealth of knowledge and a passionate commitment to inclusive education.
Joining Emma in the school’s leadership team are Deputy Headteacher Richard Welsh and Special Educational Needs Coordinator Vicky Heslop, both dedicated to supporting the school’s vision of nurturing every child’s potential.
“I’m thrilled to lead Roundhill Primary and look forward to creating a welcoming environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed,” Emma shared. “Inclusive education is at the heart of our mission, preparing children not just academically but for life beyond school.”

Emma is eager to meet prospective families at the upcoming Open Day on Tuesday, October 7, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. This event offers parents and carers an opportunity to explore the school and learn more about its supportive community.
Roundhill Primary is one of 17 schools supported by The Partnership Trust, which spans primary, first, and special schools across Bath and Somerset. CEO Emily Massey praised Emma’s appointment, highlighting the Trust’s role in fostering professional growth and delivering high-quality education. “Emma’s leadership will ensure even more children benefit from outstanding teaching and care,” Massey said.
