Weston-super-Mare’s Marine Lake plaza is set to welcome two new businesses this season. Embers Sauna and Perrett Neads A Coffee Hut, set to open from early April through September, promise an inviting combination of relaxation and refreshment for both locals and tourists.
Embers Sauna, run by Ed and Claire Charles, will bring a mobile, wood-fired sauna experience to the lakeside. The eco-friendly sauna, fueled by a wood-burning stove, is tailored for cold-water swimmers and wellness enthusiasts seeking affordable heat therapy.
This venture aims to provide a space for visitors to unwind, with adaptable opening hours and features like group bookings for events and activities. Embers Sauna also plans to collaborate with local sea swimming clubs and wellness organizations, emphasizing a welcoming environment for individuals to combine the benefits of sauna heat therapy and cold-water swimming.

In parallel, the family-operated Perrett Neads A Coffee Hut, led by Emma and Paul Perret, will offer freshly ground coffee, locally-sourced sandwiches, salads, handcrafted ice cream, and more. The menu, adapting to the seasons, is designed to create a sociable hub for residents and visitors to savor high-quality food and drink in an inviting outdoor setting.
North Somerset Council’s executive member for culture and leisure, Councillor Mike Solomon, expressed enthusiasm for the new additions, praising the unique and exciting offerings of the sauna and the prospect of trying the coffee and treats at the lakeside cafe.
The news aligns with broader enhancements planned for Marine Lake, signaling a commitment to further improve the area by the end of March 2026.
