A proposal to transform an empty warehouse in Keynsham into an electric karting track has the potential to generate around 40 jobs. TeamSport, a company with 35 karting centers across the UK, including one in Avonmouth, aims to repurpose the warehouse near Waitrose, formerly operated by I.J.McGill Transport.
In a statement accompanying their planning application to Bath and North East Somerset Council, TeamSport highlighted the large open layout of the building, which they plan to use to create an immersive karting experience. The new venture is projected to bring significant investment to the area and contribute to the local economy.
The proposed karting center is expected to operate daily from 8am to 11pm and accommodate up to 16 electric karts simultaneously, with a focus on zero emissions.
