A stylish new home and lifestyle boutique, Exurbia, has opened its doors in the picturesque Devon countryside near Cullompton. Located within the charmingly converted farm buildings at Fordmore Farm Shop and Café, Exurbia offers a carefully curated selection of interiors and gifts designed to enhance everyday living.
Founded by Nicki Reid, who formerly served as sales and marketing director at Barratt Homes, Exurbia features a diverse range of homewares including lighting, mirrors, rugs, throws, furniture, pet accessories, and unique gifts. The store’s products come from a blend of British designers and international creators, reflecting a timeless aesthetic that aims to transcend suburban trends.
“This new venture represents an exciting new chapter for me,” Nicki shared. “Leaving the corporate world was a big decision, but when this opportunity presented itself, it simply felt right. The positive response from customers has been incredible, and we’re focused on evolving our range to match their tastes and the changing seasons.”

The name ‘Exurbia’—derived from Latin meaning “beyond the suburbs”—symbolizes the brand’s mission to offer distinctive and enduring pieces that bring beauty and comfort to everyday spaces.
Tom Harradine, owner of Fordmore Farm Shop and Café, welcomes Exurbia as a valuable addition to the growing community hub. “We’re thrilled to have Nicki join us,” he said. “Her expertise in home décor and interior design is evident in the stunning collection she has curated. The range continues to evolve in response to the needs of both our loyal customers and new visitors.”
Nicki highlighted the warm and supportive atmosphere at Fordmore: “Everyone here has been so welcoming. It’s an inspiring community to be part of.”
Exurbia’s launch marks the latest exciting development for Fordmore Farm Shop, which continues to thrive as a destination for food, shopping, and community engagement.
