A striking spider-shaped crop circle, etched into a farmer’s field near the renowned Cerne Abbas Giant in North Dorset, has triggered a police investigation. The large geometric design appeared suddenly, causing significant damage to the crop and financial loss for the farmer.
The unusual formation was first noticed on Thursday, July 10. Dorset Police have confirmed that the damage qualifies as criminal and are appealing to the public for any information that might help identify those responsible.
Police Constable Kate Schofield, part of the Rural Crime Team, emphasized the impact of the incident: “This act of criminal damage has had a significant financial impact on the farmer. We urge anyone with information about the damage to come forward and assist our investigation.”
