Mysterious Fire Destroys Workshop in Somerset

A severe fire completely destroyed a workshop in Westbury Sub Mendip, Somerset, on the evening of Saturday, January 31. The blaze erupted around 7:15 pm in an outbuilding used both as a workshop and storage space.

Firefighters from Wells, Cheddar, and Bridgwater promptly responded to the emergency. Using two breathing apparatus sets, a hose reel jet, a main jet, and drag forks, the crew worked diligently to extinguish the flames. Despite their efforts, the building and everything inside were entirely consumed by the fire.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the cause of the fire remains unknown. In an official statement, they detailed the response and firefighting tactics employed to control and put out the large blaze.
