A mother has spoken out against the shocking inaction of bystanders during a brutal attack on her daughter at Cabot Circus in Bristol. Stacey, who asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons, revealed that her teenage daughter was targeted by a group of boys and girls while walking to a bus stop after school on Wednesday evening.
The assault, captured in distressing video footage that has been widely shared on social media, shows the girl being surrounded and attacked. Despite seeking refuge inside a Zara store, the attackers followed her inside. According to Stacey, the store staff did not intervene, prompting her daughter to leave and stand at the bus stop, where the violence escalated further.
The victim sustained concussion, bruises to her cheeks, and marks on her legs but, thankfully, no life-threatening injuries. Stacey expressed frustration over what she described as multiple failures that night—from Zara staff to bus drivers and other passersby—who “just stood and watched” without offering help.

Avon and Somerset Police have arrested three teenagers linked to the assault, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police have also apologized for an initial delay in arranging medical assistance and have committed to providing safeguarding support to the victim.
In response, Zara UK stated they are cooperating fully with the police investigation and expressed their sympathy for the victim.
The girl’s mother has since withdrawn her children from school out of safety concerns but praised her daughter’s school for implementing additional safeguarding measures.
Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Keith Smith condemned the attack as “sickening” and urged anyone with information to assist the ongoing investigation by contacting authorities.
