Murder Investigation Underway in Weston-super-Mare After Man Dies from Serious Injuries

A murder investigation has been launched in Weston-super-Mare following the death of a man from serious injuries. Avon and Somerset Police announced that two men, both in their 40s, have been apprehended on suspicion of murder following the man’s demise on November 27.

The incident began with a report of a robbery at the Royal Grosvenor Hotel on Knightstone Road around 4.15am. Subsequently, the police spoke to a man believed to be the robbery victim and took him to an address on Upper Church Road.

Inside the address, a man was found with severe injuries. Despite attempts to resuscitate him by the officers and paramedics, the man passed away at the scene. His next of kin has been informed of the tragic event.

The two men arrested on suspicion of murder were initially taken to the hospital due to their injuries. They have since been released and are currently in police custody.

The Major Crime Investigation Team is spearheading the inquiry. Law enforcement is reviewing CCTV footage and conducting house-to-house investigations.

Cordons have been set up at the address on Upper Church Road, the Royal Grosvenor Hotel, and the former Methodist church in Upper Church Road for crime scene investigations which are estimated to continue for some time.

As part of the inquiry, searches will be conducted, including the inspection of bins left out for collection. The police have requested the cooperation of the residents in specific areas for this purpose.

Inspector Graeme Hall emphasized the tragic nature of the incident and assured the public of no wider risk. He encouraged residents to engage with increased patrols in their area and approach officers with any queries.
