Danielle Manton-Kelly, a parenting creator and mother of four, recently shared a heartfelt experience that left her emotional and grateful. While shopping with her young son at Sainsbury’s Castlepoint in Bournemouth, he suddenly projectile vomited in the middle of the store, causing Danielle to freeze in panic.
“I was just frozen,” Danielle explained. “Vomit really freaks me out, and in that moment, I didn’t know what to do next.”
However, a staff member quickly stepped in, calling their team to handle the mess. Despite Danielle’s insistence that she would clean up, the staff encouraged her to take her son to the restroom while they took care of the situation.

Once Danielle cleaned her son up, a staff member knocked on the restroom door and surprised her with a thoughtful gesture: a brand-new space-themed outfit and fresh pants for her son. “They even gave me a bag for his soiled clothes,” Danielle recalled. “When I offered to pay, they simply said, ‘No, just take him home and keep him warm.’ I was completely blown away by their kindness and quick response.”
This wasn’t the first time Danielle experienced such generosity from Sainsbury’s. Early in her parenting journey, her daughter had a nappy accident in the same store. Once again, staff came to her aid, providing clean clothes and refusing payment.
“We don’t celebrate these moments enough,” Danielle said. “Having someone there who has your back as a parent is priceless. Thank you, Sainsbury’s.”
The story resonated with many on TikTok. One commenter shared a similar experience where Sainsbury’s staff assisted their daughter during a seizure, providing fresh clothes and emotional support. Another expressed how the kindness brought them to tears, highlighting how rare and precious such acts of compassion have become.
Danielle’s story is a reminder of the power of empathy and kindness in everyday moments, especially when families face unexpected challenges.
