Much-Loved Doctor Among This Week’s Somerset Funeral Notices

Announcing the passing of loved ones through local news outlets is a cherished tradition, and we are honoured to be entrusted with these significant announcements. Each funeral notice published in our newspaper and on our website also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk — the UK’s leading platform for death notices and memorials.

These notices remain online indefinitely, offering friends and family a lasting tribute. They provide a safe space to share memories, add photos and tributes, and make donations in honour of the departed.

Each week, we pay respects to those remembered in our community by sharing a selection of recent funeral notices and online tribute pages. To view the latest announcements, add your own tributes, or arrange a funeral notice, please contact our dedicated team.

Among this week’s remembrances:

A much-respected doctor and campaigner passed away peacefully at home on February 24th, 2026. Deeply loved by his wife Ann, daughter Victoria, son Edward, and grandchildren William and Lily, his funeral service will be held at The Valley Chapel, Haycombe Crematorium, Bath, on Monday, March 30th at 1 p.m. Family flowers only, with donations kindly requested for The Shipwrecked Mariners' Society, The Woodland Trust, or WaterAid.

Other cherished individuals remembered this week include passionate equestrian Ian from Bolsover, Derbyshire, who dedicated his life to showjumping and horse training; Jean, a loving wife and mother from Yeovil; and Gerry, a beloved community member involved with Bath Rugby Club and Bath Golf Club.

Every life shared here reflects a legacy of love, contribution, and cherished memories. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends mourning their loss and celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us.
