Much-loved Daughter, 17, Among This Week’s Somerset Funeral Notices

Paying tribute to those we have lost is a cherished tradition in local communities, and we are honoured to carry forward this practice. Every funeral notice published in our newspaper and online is also featured on funeral-notices.co.uk, the UK’s leading site for death notices and memorials. These notices remain accessible online indefinitely, offering families and friends a lasting tribute where memories, tributes, photographs, and donations can be shared securely.

Each week, we reflect on the lives of those remembered in Somerset through funeral notices and dedicated tribute pages. To view the latest announcements or add your own tributes, visit funeral-notices.co.uk or contact our team directly at 01482 908084 to place a notice.

Among this week’s heartfelt memorials is a much-loved 17-year-old daughter, Meg, who passed away peacefully at home on 24th May 2026. Beloved daughter of Philippa and Jim, Meg will always be remembered by her family and many friends. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday 6th July at Sedgemoor Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed for the Children’s Heart Federation.

Other cherished individuals remembered this week include:

  • Bertie, aged 96, who passed at Torrwood Nursing Home, Wells, with a funeral at Mendip Crematorium on 25th June. Donations for Blind Veterans UK are appreciated.

  • Mike, aged 90, of Street, whose service will take place at Sedgemoor Crematorium followed by a thanksgiving at Street United Reformed Church, with donations welcomed for RAF Benevolent Fund and Secret World Wildlife Rescue.

  • Vashti, aged 52, lovingly remembered by her family and friends, with a service at St Andrew’s Church, Cheddar, on 7th July. Donations are directed to The Brain Tumour Charity and specialist medical centres.

  • Chris, who bravely fought chronic illness, with a funeral at Haycombe Crematorium and donations requested for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

  • Kieth, aged 88, reunited with his beloved wife and son, memorialised at Haycombe Crematorium with donations for Dementia UK.

  • Pete, lost unexpectedly in an accident, with a celebration of life at St Michael the Archangel Church, Dundry. Donations to Bristol Heart Institute and Neonatal Intensive Care are encouraged.

These notices reflect the lives, loves, and legacies of many in the Somerset community. Each notice offers an opportunity to celebrate, remember, and support causes close to the departed’s heart.

We extend our deepest sympathies to all families and friends during these times of loss. For further information about funeral services or to publish a notice, please visit funeral-notices.co.uk or contact your local funeral director.
