A motorist has been fined a total of £2,166 after being caught both drink-driving and speeding in Devizes.
On March 9, 2025, at 2:45 pm, officers stopped a vehicle traveling at 51 mph in a 30 mph zone in St Edith’s Marsh. The driver, Jaimee Long, 34, of Dowse Road, Devizes, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.
Long provided a breath sample which measured 66 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath—nearly double the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Further testing at custody confirmed that Long was over the legal drink-driving limit.

At Salisbury Magistrates’ Court, Long was found guilty of drink-driving. The court imposed a 12-month driving disqualification, a fine of £2,166, along with court costs and a victim surcharge totaling £1,515.
