A tragic collision on the A380 near the M5 has claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The fatal incident occurred on Tuesday, June 10, at Telegraph Hill, close to Exeter.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that at approximately 12:40 pm, a motorcycle collided with a bicycle on the southbound carriageway near the Splatford Split. Emergency services responded promptly, but unfortunately, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The cyclist involved sustained minor injuries and has received medical attention. The deceased motorcyclist’s next of kin have been notified.
As police conducted their investigation, the A380 was closed for the majority of the day, causing significant traffic congestion. Delays also extended to the A38 westbound near junction 31 of the M5.

A spokesperson from the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the road closure. Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage relevant to the crash to come forward.
