Milsom Street Closure in Bath Postponed to March

The planned closure of Milsom Street in Bath, including its junctions with George Street and Quiet Street, has been postponed until March. Bath & North East Somerset Council aims to carry out pavement improvements and road resurfacing works between 10am and 6pm during this period. Additionally, George Street will be closed for one night to conduct essential work from its junction with Gay Street to Lansdown Road.

Originally scheduled to begin on February 3, the closures and associated works have been delayed. Diversions will be in place to manage traffic flow and accommodate the temporary restrictions.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order specifies the temporary prohibition of cyclists, horse riders, and motor vehicles, as well as the suspension of parking, including for Blue Badge holders, in the affected areas of Milsom Street and George Street during the specified times.

The council’s decision to postpone the closures and provide alternative arrangements reflects its commitment to minimizing disruption and ensuring the safety of road users.
