Met Office Warns of ‘Disruptive’ Heavy Rain Over Easter in Somerset

The Met Office has issued a warning of disruptive heavy rain over the Easter weekend in Somerset. The weather outlook indicates a mix of rain and occasional sunny spells, with the potential for difficult traveling conditions due to heavy rain.

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Steven Skeates advises that an area of low pressure may bring heavy and disruptive rain, particularly in southwest England, as well as parts of Northern Ireland and south Wales. While Easter Sunday is expected to be drier, the weather may turn unsettled again on Monday.

RAC breakdown spokesperson Alice Simpson emphasizes the importance of planning ahead and preparing for potential travel disruptions, especially with an estimated 6.2 million people undecided on their travel plans. Early or later travel times are recommended to avoid potential congestion caused by wet weather conditions.
