A Dorset McDonald’s restaurant has joined forces with the Park Community Youth Group to support local young people and address pressing social challenges in the area.
This partnership is part of McDonald’s national ‘Makin’ it’ programme, which connects local franchises with youth organizations to create safe environments and provide skill-building opportunities for young people.
Supported by Dorset Council, the initiative was spearheaded by McDonald’s franchisee Chris Truscott, who has also contributed food to support the youth group’s activities.

Chris Truscott commented, “We’re proud to partner with Park Community Youth Group and back the incredible work they do for young people in Dorset. As a community-focused business, we are committed to making a positive impact. This partnership is just the beginning, and we look forward to fostering it for many years to come.”
The ‘Makin’ it’ programme forms part of McDonald’s broader commitment to empowering youth, especially in areas with limited access to youth services. Across the UK, over 90 McDonald’s restaurants participate in similar projects, offering CV workshops, sports programs, music activities, and more.
As the UK’s largest employer of young people, McDonald’s is dedicated to creating safe, supportive spaces such as youth clubs and outreach initiatives, helping young individuals build confidence and develop their careers.
