MasterChef Star William Sitwell to Launch Stylish Hotel and Italian Restaurant in Somerset

William Sitwell, renowned food critic for The Daily Telegraph and familiar face from MasterChef UK, is set to embark on a new venture in Somerset’s hospitality scene. With a loyal Instagram following of 25,000, Sitwell shared the news of his plans to transform the recently closed White Hart in Wiveliscombe into a chic hotel and fine Italian restaurant.

The White Hart shut its doors last week, displaying signs that it was “temporarily closed,” but Sitwell’s vision aims to breathe new life into the establishment. Announcing the project on Instagram, he said: “As The White Hart, Wiveliscombe, West Somerset, closes, I’m delighted to announce my plan for it to rise again as a chic hotel and Italian restaurant.”

Dubbed “Casa Wivey,” the new venue promises to be an accessible, family-friendly restaurant featuring an excellent bar and a dedicated workspace. Sitwell is partnering with top local professionals to bring this vision to fruition. He added, “After 25 years writing about food and drink, this is my first serious venture into the hospitality business alongside the hugely successful Sitwell Supper Club. Join me on this journey and become an investor. Let’s do this!! Long Live Wivey! Keep Wivey Great!”
