Dramatic footage captures the aftermath of a large fire that engulfed 200 tonnes of wood near Taunton early Thursday morning, July 16. The blaze broke out in Henlade, within the TA3 postcode area, just off the A358, at approximately 12:24 a.m.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue swiftly responded, deploying four fire engines at the peak of the incident. Despite intense efforts, the fire consumed a substantial amount of wood and woodchip, creating thick smoke visible across the surrounding area.

Local residents have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed throughout the day due to ongoing smoke in the vicinity. Fire crews collaborated with site staff to salvage unaffected woodchip, working carefully amid the challenging conditions.
