In the early hours of Wednesday, July 30, a severe fire broke out in Frome, engulfing ten vehicles and causing significant damage. Fire crews were alerted around 12:36 a.m. and arrived to find several vehicles already “well alight.”
The blaze quickly became uncontrollable, raising concerns that nearby buildings might catch fire. Ultimately, eight vehicles were completely destroyed, while two others sustained approximately 30 percent damage. In addition to the vehicles, the flames caused minor external damage to an adjacent porter cabin, though other nearby structures remained unharmed.
Firefighters worked diligently for about three and a half hours to bring the fire under control and prevent further spread. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, and fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
