March’s Notorious Somerset Criminals Brought to Justice

A wave of criminals in Somerset have faced the consequences of their actions in March, as judges have sentenced them to prison for appalling crimes. From abusive partners to dangerous offenders, the latest convicts include individuals who inflicted harm on their victims. Here, SomersetLive presents an overview of the criminals jailed in March.

SHAKORI BULL Shakori Bull, a resident of Chippenham, has been sentenced to two years and five months for engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, intentional strangulation, and assault causing bodily harm towards his former partner.

JASON FORD Jason Ford, known for causing mayhem including assaulting emergency workers, has been branded a “danger to society” and jailed for two years and three months for his crimes in Exeter, Bridgwater, and Plymouth.

PAUL STEPHAN Paul Stephan, a sex offender, was emotional during his sentencing at Bath Magistrates’ Court and was jailed for 12 months despite his pleas for leniency.

EDWARD RILEY Edward Riley, from South Petherton, received a five-year prison sentence for historical child sexual abuse at Worcester Crown Court.

LAUREN THOMAS Prolific shoplifter Lauren Thomas has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison at Taunton Magistrates Court for stealing from shops in Bridgwater.

MOHAMMED BAIG Mohammed Baig, convicted for controlling and coercive behavior and dangerous driving, has been jailed for two years at Swindon Crown Court.

JEGIR ASSAD Jegir Asaad was sentenced to life imprisonment for fatally wounding Tomasz Stankiewicz and will serve a minimum of 23 years in prison at Bristol Crown Court.

NEIL WARREN Neil Warren, a drugs courier, has been jailed for four years at Exeter Crown Court after being caught transporting cocaine worth nearly a quarter of a million pounds.

ADAM GREGORY Adam Gregory received a 12-month jail sentence at Swindon Magistrates Court for sexually assaulting a woman in her home.

ANDREI MATEI Andrei Matei, involved in stealing thousands of pounds from cash machines across the UK, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison and will be deported once released.
