The iconic rock band, Manic Street Preachers, has thrown their support behind a charity raffle benefiting mental health charity Mind. The raffle, set to take place at Resolution Records in Bath next month, will feature signed vinyl editions of the band’s albums, with all proceeds going to the charitable cause.
Ruby Lawson, a 19-year-old originally hailing from Wales and now residing in Bath, was inspired to organize the raffle due to her work at Resolution Records and her personal connection to the cause. Half of the proceeds will be directed to Newport Mind, while the other half will support Bath Mind, symbolizing her ties to both locations.
The involvement of Manic Street Preachers in the raffle was facilitated through Lawson’s longstanding connection to bassist Nicky Wire, a friend of her family. The charity raffle holds emotional significance for the band, given their history with guitarist Richey Edwards, who went missing in 1995 after battling depression.

The resurgence of vinyl’s popularity, referred to as ‘the vinyl revival’ by Lawson, has amplified the success of the charity raffle. The tactile nature of vinyl and concerns about the impact of streaming on artists' income have contributed to its renewed appeal.
To participate in the raffle, individuals can enter online or visit Resolution Records at Green Park Station in Bath. The draw offers the chance to win signed LPs, with entry prices set at £5 for a single LP and £10 for a collection of six LPs, including critically acclaimed albums such as Critical Thinking and The Holy Bible.
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues, it’s essential to seek support.
