Tommy Hitt, 46, is due to be sentenced for pleading guilty to 10 domestic abuse offenses, including sexual assault, threats to kill, and false imprisonment after subjecting a woman to a grueling ten-hour ordeal on February 21. Hitt repeatedly attacked the woman, shaved her head, and assaulted her inside a vehicle. He fractured her eye socket, caused significant bruising and swelling, and left her with lasting damage to her retinas as well as the loss of several teeth. Hitt also sexually assaulted her twice.
Detective Constable James Gatherum praised the victim’s bravery in reporting the crimes and staying engaged in the criminal justice process. Hitt, remanded in custody, will be sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on June 13.
DC Gatherum encouraged individuals facing similar abuse to come forward and seek support from the authorities.
