A man suffered serious head and facial injuries following an attack in Yeovil during the early hours of Sunday, 26 July. The victim was walking from St Michael’s Avenue towards Hawthorn Road when he was assaulted by an unknown assailant.
The incident is reported to have occurred sometime between 11:50 pm on Saturday, 25 July, and 12:05 am on Sunday, 26 July, with police believing the attack took place along the route encompassing St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, and Northbrook Road.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the victim required hospital treatment for the substantial facial and head injuries sustained but has since been discharged and is currently recovering.

Extensive police investigations are underway, including house-to-house inquiries and analysis of CCTV footage in the area.
Officers urge anyone who was in the vicinity during the timeframe and witnessed anything suspicious, or who may possess relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam recordings from St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, Northbrook Road, or nearby streets between late Saturday and early Sunday, to come forward.

“We are committed to following every lead to ensure those responsible are held accountable,” said a police spokesperson.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue their enquiries.
