Man Suffers Serious Head Injury in Late-Night Assault in Somerset Village

Avon and Somerset Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to following a violent altercation in the Somerset village of Faulkland near Radstock.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 pm on Saturday, November 22, on Knoll Lane, where multiple individuals were involved in a confrontation. During the disturbance, a man in his mid-40s was punched in the face, causing him to fall backward and sustain a significant head injury. He was left unconscious with a large wound requiring hospital treatment and remains in care.

A police spokesperson urged anyone who recognizes the man in the CCTV image to come forward, as he may have information vital to their investigation. The individual is described as a white male in his early 20s, of large build, about 6 feet tall. At the time, he was wearing a green sleeveless jacket over a green jumper featuring purple striped sleeves, paired with blue jeans.

Officers have already conducted CCTV reviews in the area and gathered witness statements. They continue to stay in contact with the victim, who has been provided access to support services.
