A 30-year-old man was hospitalised and required surgery after a violent assault in Bridgwater on Sunday, 5 July. The incident occurred shortly after 3:30pm on Market Street, where the victim was attacked and knocked to the ground by the offender. Avon and Somerset Police report that the assault continued as the victim lay on the ground, resulting in a broken wrist that necessitated surgical treatment.
Police are currently appealing for information and are keen to speak to a man believed to be connected to the incident. The individual is described as white, slim, and approximately 18 to 25 years old, with blond hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a block polo shirt and grey trousers.
Investigating officers have spoken to witnesses and reviewed CCTV footage as part of their ongoing inquiries.
