A man in his early 70s sustained a broken leg after being assaulted on Argyle Street in Bath. The incident occurred near Pulteney Bridge following a verbal dispute between the victim and another individual. According to Avon and Somerset Police, the assailant approached the victim from behind and pushed him to the ground, resulting in a fractured femur.
Emergency services responded promptly, and the injured man was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery. He has since been discharged and is recuperating at home.
Authorities have released a description of the suspect, seeking the public’s assistance in identifying him. The man wanted by police is described as white, aged between 40 and 50 years, with short hair and stubble. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a grey T-shirt, dark shorts, black shoes, and carrying a dark-colored backpack.

Police have already spoken to several witnesses and reviewed CCTV footage but urge anyone who witnessed the event, or who may have relevant images or recordings, to come forward.
