Man Suffers Broken Jaw in Brutal Bath Street Attack

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with following a violent assault in Bath.

In the early hours of Saturday, April 18, between 3:30 and 3:45 a.m., a man in his mid-20s sustained a broken jaw during a confrontation on Southgate Street. The victim required emergency surgery at the hospital but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Despite speaking to witnesses and reviewing available CCTV footage, investigators are now appealing for assistance from the public. They specifically want to identify and speak to the man captured in the released images, who may possess crucial information related to the attack.

The man in question is described as white, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, of medium build, and in his mid-20s. At the time, he was wearing a black Tommy Hilfiger baseball cap, a black T-shirt with white logo lettering on the chest, dark trousers, and white trainers featuring multi-coloured writing. Notable features include a dark beard and moustache, along with distinctive multi-coloured tattoos on his right arm and hand.

Avon and Somerset Police emphasized that such incidents are rare in Bath and reassured the public there is no ongoing threat. They urge anyone with information to contact them on 101, citing reference number 5226105539, or to submit details through their online appeals form.
