Man Stabbed Following Serious Disorder in Marlborough

A man in his 30s was stabbed during an incident described as a “serious disorder” in Garside Way, Marlborough, on the evening of Wednesday, September 10. Wiltshire Police responded to reports of the disturbance at around 10:30 p.m.

The victim remains hospitalized with serious injuries, though his condition is not believed to be life-threatening. A 34-year-old suspect, who is known to the victim, sustained minor injuries during the incident.

The suspect was arrested on multiple charges including affray, grievous bodily harm with intent, assault on an emergency worker, and criminal damage. He remains in police custody pending further questioning.

Police had initially set up a scene guard to facilitate their inquiries, which has since been lifted. It is understood both men had visited The Pelican Inn in Froxfield earlier that evening.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Morley of Central CID urged the public to come forward: “We understand the concern this incident may cause in the community, but we believe it to be an isolated dispute between two known individuals. Our enquiries continue, and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the disorder or the events leading up to it. We are also seeking information from anyone who was at The Pelican Inn in Froxfield on the evening in question and noticed anything suspicious.”

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police added, “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious disorder in Garside Way, Marlborough. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact DS Morley via email at [email protected], quoting reference 54250123274.”
