Man Sought in Connection with Charity Box Incident at Taunton Church

Avon and Somerset Police have released an image of a man they wish to identify in connection with an incident at a church on Billet Street, Taunton. The man allegedly attempted to force open a charity donation box inside the church around 3 pm on Saturday, April 18. Fortunately, no money was taken during the incident.

A spokesperson for the police described the man as a white male between 50 and 60 years old, with brown hair that is shorter at the sides and thinning on top. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a beige cable-knit sweatshirt over a light-colored hooded jumper, blue jeans, and carrying a blue rucksack.

Investigators have already conducted CCTV reviews and house-to-house enquiries. Despite these efforts, they encourage anyone who recognizes the man or has information relevant to the investigation to come forward. Police emphasize that there is no evidence linking this incident to any other similar events in the area, and they do not believe there is any wider threat to the community.
