Man Seriously Injured in Late-Night Yeovil Attack

A man sustained serious head and facial injuries following an assault in Yeovil late on Saturday night. The victim was attacked by an unknown assailant while walking along a route between St Michael’s Avenue and Hawthorn Road.

Avon and Somerset Police report that the incident occurred between 11:50pm on Saturday, 25 July, and 12:05am on Sunday, 26 July. The assault is believed to have taken place somewhere along the path covering St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, and Northbrook Road.

The injured man received hospital treatment for his significant facial and head wounds. He has since been discharged and is currently recovering.

Police have conducted thorough investigations, including house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage; these enquiries remain ongoing.

Officers are urging anyone who was in the area during the time of the attack and witnessed any suspicious behaviour to come forward. Additionally, they are seeking any relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, Northbrook Road, or nearby locations between late on Saturday 25 July and the early hours of Sunday 26 July.
