Man Seriously Injured in Early Morning Stabbing in Weston-super-Mare

A man in his 40s was seriously injured in a stabbing attack in Weston-super-Mare during the early hours of Thursday, May 15. The victim was rushed to hospital after sustaining stab wounds in Ashcombe Road at approximately 3:15 a.m. Initially feared to be life-threatening, his condition is now critical but stable.

Earlier the previous evening, Avon and Somerset Police were alerted to an altercation around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, near Osborne Road and Earlham Grove. Authorities are currently investigating both incidents and have not ruled out a connection.

Detective Inspector George Pettingell commented, “Enquiries at the scene were completed overnight, and we are diligently reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. This was a serious attack, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”

He added, “We are aware of the earlier disturbance and are considering whether the two events are linked. We encourage witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to assist with our investigation. Neighbourhood officers have increased patrols and are available to address any public concerns.”
