Man Seriously Injured in Early Morning Attack on Couple in Weston-super-Mare

A man in his early twenties sustained significant facial injuries after an assault on Hildesheim Bridge in Weston-super-Mare during the early hours of Sunday, May 3. He and a female companion were returning home from a night out when they were approached by a stranger between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

According to Avon and Somerset Police, the attack followed a brief verbal exchange, after which the male victim was violently assaulted, losing consciousness and requiring hospital treatment. He has since been discharged to continue his recovery at home. The female victim was also harmed, sustaining a minor back injury when she was pushed while trying to intervene.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late twenties, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with blond hair. At the time, he was wearing blue jeans, a beige coat, and a cap.

Detectives urge anyone who saw a man matching this description in the Weston-super-Mare area on the evening of Saturday, May 2, or early Sunday morning, May 3, to come forward.
