Man Seriously Injured After Hit-and-Run at Tesco Petrol Station

A man in his nineties suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car on the forecourt of the Tesco petrol station on Ditton Street in Ilminster. The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14.

According to Avon and Somerset Police, the driver, reported to be in a white car, failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian and left without providing any assistance or details.

While the injuries sustained by the victim are serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening. The man is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Police are actively reviewing CCTV and other footage from the area to identify the driver. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward.
