Man Seriously Injured After Crossbow Attack in Wellington

A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries after being shot with a crossbow bolt in Wellington on the evening of Monday, June 9. Emergency services responded promptly to the incident on Wardleworth Way, where the victim was attacked. He was transported to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged to recover at home.

Following the attack, Avon and Somerset Police arrested a man in his 40s nearby on suspicion of wounding with intent. Authorities believe the two men involved know each other. The arrested individual remains in police custody as the investigation proceeds.

Neighbourhood Inspector Joe Piscina described the event as a “shocking incident” and confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway. The police cordon remains in place at the scene as officers continue collecting evidence.
