Man Rescued After Leg Injury on South West Coast Path

On Thursday, July 2, a man sustained a lower leg injury and fell near the South West Coast Path close to Porlock Weir. The South West Ambulance Service Trust promptly alerted the Exmoor Search and Rescue Team to assist.

Nine rescuers, including two medical technicians, responded swiftly as the sun began to set. After a careful search, they located the injured man approximately one kilometer from the nearest road. Unable to bear weight on his injured leg, he required immediate aid.

The rescue team equipped with stretcher and vacuum splints carefully stabilized the man, placing him into a casualty bag on a wheeled stretcher. He was then safely transported back to the roadside, where an ambulance awaited to provide further medical care.
