Man Receives Jail Sentence for Repeated Domestic Abuse

A man from Somerset, Jonathan Farrelly, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for repeatedly assaulting his partner and violating a restraining order. The 36-year-old admitted to attacking his victim, causing substantial bruising and making her life unbearable.

The victim, in her statement, expressed the impact of the abuse on her and her family, stating that she just wants peace and safety for her children. Detective Inspector Scott Westbrook-Smith emphasized the seriousness of domestic abuse and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.

The sentence reflects the gravity of the crimes committed and aims to bring justice and relief to the victims. It also serves as a reminder of the zero-tolerance approach to violence against women and the commitment to supporting survivors.
