Man Jailed for Violent Burglary and Harassment in Warminster

Kane Thomas, 36, of Corner Ground in Warminster, has been sentenced to two years in prison and handed a 10-year restraining order following a violent burglary and harassment case. Thomas appeared at Winchester Crown Court on July 28, having pleaded guilty to charges related to his aggressive actions against a woman in her 30s.

The unsettling incident began on April 15 when Thomas escalated his behavior by attempting to force entry into the victim’s home, repeatedly kicking the front door and back gate. Four days later, at approximately 5 a.m. on April 19, he forcibly entered through a small window while the woman was asleep. Once inside, Thomas caused significant damage—smashing a television, breaking kitchen glasses, and pulling doors off their hinges. He also issued threats, leaving the victim living in fear.

Following the incident, police investigations led to Thomas’s arrest later that evening. Local Crime Investigator Sophie Vowles described Thomas as a dangerous individual whose escalating violence and harassment deeply affected the victim: “I commend the victim for her bravery and cooperation throughout the investigation. Her courage has been instrumental in ensuring justice was served.”

Vowles added, “I hope this sentence brings her some closure and reassurance, allowing her to regain peace and move forward. Wiltshire Police remains committed to tackling violence against women and girls in all forms.”

Wiltshire Police also emphasized the importance of support for abuse victims, encouraging anyone experiencing domestic violence to reach out for help and guidance through their official channels.
