Thomas Noonan, a 32-year-old resident of Lower Bristol Road in Bath, has been sentenced to four years in jail for robbing a pharmacy at knifepoint. The incident took place on September 5, 2024, at Gompels Pharmacy in Bank Street, Melksham.
Noonan threatened the staff with a knife and demanded them not to move before proceeding to steal various items from the store, including perfume. Following an extensive investigation, Noonan was connected to the crime, and he was subsequently arrested in Bath. Clothes worn during the robbery were discovered in his flat, leading to his conviction.
Charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place, Noonan pleaded guilty and received a four-year custodial sentence for his actions. T/DC Dan Chaventre of Wiltshire Police emphasized the impact of the crime on the staff and the public, expressing relief that no physical harm resulted from the incident.

“Fortunately, nobody was hurt, and following excellent policing work, involving multiple lines of inquiry, we were able to link Noonan to the offence and arrest him shortly after. He has now been jailed for his crimes where he can hopefully reflect on his actions and the distress he caused,” said T/DC Dan Chaventre."
