Avon and Somerset Police are urgently appealing for witnesses following an assault on a woman in her early 20s in Wells. The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Friday, June 20, in South Street, where a man reportedly grabbed at the woman’s clothing before throwing a bike at her.
Authorities have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with, describing him as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, black jogging bottoms, a grey beanie hat, and Nike Air Jordan trainers. He was also seen with a silver-framed bicycle.
A witness reported that the woman ran down Guardhouse Lane and was followed by the same man shortly afterward. Police have conducted house-to-house inquiries but believe the man may hold vital information related to the assault.
