A tragic road accident on the A30 in Devon has claimed the life of a young Hampshire man, a month after the crash occurred. The collision took place on the westbound carriageway at Fenny Bridges, near Honiton, in a lay-by area at around 10pm on Tuesday, March 10.
Devon and Cornwall Police report that a Vauxhall van driven by the man, aged in his 20s, collided with a parked heavy goods vehicle (HGV). The impact caused the van driver to suffer multiple serious injuries, prompting emergency medical services to rush him to hospital immediately.
Despite medical efforts, the man did not survive and passed away in hospital. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam footage to come forward.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police stated: “We were called just before 10pm on March 10 to a report of a collision involving a Vauxhall van and a stationary HGV in a lay-by on the A30 westbound near Honiton. Sadly, the driver of the van has since died in hospital from his injuries. We continue to appeal for any witnesses or information that could assist the investigation.”
