A man in his twenties has been arrested following a serious single-vehicle crash in Somerset that left a passenger in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 6:10 p.m. on Friday, February 6, on Brendon Road in Watchet. The vehicle involved was a blue Ford C-Max. Emergency services rushed the injured passenger to hospital, where he remains with serious injuries. The police have informed the man’s family.
When officers arrived, the driver was not at the scene. After further investigations, a suspect in his 20s was arrested several hours later on suspicion of multiple driving-related offenses. These include causing serious injury by dangerous driving, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said, “We are appealing for witnesses who saw the Ford C-Max before the crash or who captured the incident on CCTV or dashcam to come forward.”
