A fatal collision occurred near Chew Valley Lake on Monday evening, resulting in the death of a man in his 70s. Emergency services were called to the scene on Bath Road in West Harptree at approximately 7:40pm following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers. A young woman involved was transported to hospital but has since been discharged after receiving treatment.
The road was closed in both directions overnight as emergency crews managed the scene, reopening at around 8am on Tuesday, July 14.
