A man has tragically died following a collision on the A38 in Somerset on Thursday evening, August 13th. The incident occurred near Thurloxton at approximately 9.20pm and involved a car and a pedestrian who was pushing a bicycle.
Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, where Avon and Somerset Police officers administered first aid. Despite their immediate efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A38 was temporarily closed in both directions while emergency responders attended to the incident. The road has since reopened.

Avon and Somerset Police have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage that could assist their investigation. They have asked anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 5226228387.
The police have confirmed that the deceased man’s next of kin have been informed, and they extended their condolences to the family during this difficult time.
